Program Components

Foraging Sessions with Dr. Katherine Willow, N.D.
Weekly 1.5-hour sessions led by Katherine, focusing on foraging skills, local ecology, and sustainable practices at Carp Ridge Learning Centre.
R.I.S.E. Academy dedicated staff member to support Katherine, assisting with all aspects of foraging, food preparation, and student engagement.

Wild Brunch Event Planning and Execution
Weekly virtual sessions with R.I.S.E. staff to prepare for the Wild Brunch event in Fall 2025.
Youth will develop essential skills in:
Event planning
(working backward from the event date)
Marketing and promotion strategies
Sponsorship and partnership development
Ticket sales and community outreach

Product Development for Carp Farmers Market
Support and guidance from R.I.S.E. staff to develop, produce, and sell a marketable product at the Carp Farmers Market.
Students will gain practical skills in entrepreneurship, budgeting, production, and sales.
